About the Joint Operations Anniversary Edition (JO:AE), the easy-to-start version of the game with the community’s favourite mods.
What is this?
- We have created an easy-to-start Joint Ops version which includes the most popular mods, like IC4, TIC, Reality Mode and AW2.
- There is also an alternative way to play online via a new “Online” function.
Why did you do this?
- We think these mods are great additions to Joint Ops that deserve to be played by more people.
- Installing and getting started with those mods has always been a hassle. Now there is one easy way for everyone.
What is this new Online feature?
- It was built to keep Joint Ops playable when the NovaWorld servers are down.
- You don’t need a NovaWorld account, and you don’t need to log in, to play with the Online function.
- Ping-wise it should be slightly better, as we’ve doubled the UDP packet stream.
- The Online feature is only available when the NovaWorld lobby is not.
Are you allowed to do this at all?
- We ask players to buy an official copy of Joint Ops on Steam.
- We only release Joint Operations: Anniversary Edition (JO:AE) if THQ Nordic knows about it and supports it.
- Joint Ops already works with GameRanger. We use the same system as GameRanger, just a bit easier for the player.
What else are you up to?
- If we get enough players, we are considering a central US-based server.
- We have more new functions in mind, but first we need the OK from THQ.
